Lifestyle Asia Expands to Africa with the Launch of Lifestyle Africa
New digital platform will cover travel, culture, design, food, fashion and entrepreneurship across African markets

APX Luxury is preparing to launch LifestyleAfrica.com, a digital lifestyle platform focused on the people, places and industries influencing contemporary Africa. The initiative builds on the Group’s experience operating Lifestyle Asia, a premium digital media network with editions across Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.

LifestyleAfrica.com will cover luxury travel, hospitality, fashion, beauty, design, gastronomy, entertainment, technology, culture and entrepreneurship. The platform will take a pan-African perspective while recognising that the continent’s consumer, tourism and creative markets differ significantly by country, city and community.

The launch comes as travel and tourism play an increasingly substantial role in African economies. In 2024, the sector contributed an estimated USD 211 billion to African GDP and supported 27.9 million jobs. Domestic travel spending reached approximately USD 106 billion, while international visitor spending was close to USD 72 billion, highlighting the scale of both local and cross-border travel demand.

“Africa is one of the world’s most dynamic growth markets, shaped by a young population, rapidly evolving cities and an extraordinary depth of creative and entrepreneurial talent. LifestyleAfrica.com aims to create a credible, contemporary platform that tells Africa’s stories with local understanding and international ambition. At the same time, Africa cannot be viewed as a single, uniform market. It is a diverse tapestry of countries, cultures and consumer communities. Our approach will be locally informed, culturally respectful and collaborative, working with journalists, creators and industry voices across the continent to reflect this diversity and build a meaningful bridge between Africa and the global luxury, travel and lifestyle ecosystem,” said Vikas Johari, Director, APX Luxury.

The platform will initially launch through digital and social channels, followed by original video, newsletters, partnerships and curated experiences. Reporting is expected to include coverage from major cultural and commercial centres such as Lagos, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Accra, Kigali, Cairo, Marrakech and Dakar.

LifestyleAfrica.com will also provide commercial partners with digital advertising, branded-content, social-media, video, creator-collaboration and event opportunities. APX Luxury’s existing Lifestyle Asia offering combines editorial publishing with newsletters and experiential formats; the brand reports 19.86 million monthly page views and more than one million social followers across its regional network.

The expansion reflects an effort to apply this digital-first model to African markets without treating the region as uniform. Editorial development and commercial partnerships will be informed by local expertise, with an emphasis on country-specific audiences, languages, travel patterns and cultural contexts.

LifestyleAfrica.com will operate as part of APX Luxury’s wider portfolio of lifestyle media brands and content-led businesses. The platform’s launch is expected to proceed in phases, beginning with digital publishing and social distribution before expanding into video, collaborations and live experiences.
